The Audio-Visual (AV) Integrations Technician installs and maintains AV systems, including office, conference room, and classroom AV, as well as digital signage and IPTV installations. The technician will work as part of a larger team that provides audio-visual services across the University.
The technician will work with customers, vendors, network technicians, electrical and carpentry trades, and Voice, Network, Infrastructure, and AV Engineering teams to develop estimates and engineering work orders, procure audio-visual equipment, install, and commission audio-visual systems.
This position will also help provide maintenance of the physical layer of the audio-visual infrastructure. Including AV and IT signal paths, AV system configurations, and loading of control code.
Position will be responsible for final commissioning and will assist in the system verification of new installs, including creation, revision, and archival of system’s as-built documentation, end-user support documentation, and programming code.
Key responsibilities of the position include:
Provide installation estimates and draft Engineering Work Order Requests
Coordinate AV installation
Troubleshoot and Repair AV installations
Associates of Science or Applied Science degree with a minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in audio-visual system installation, troubleshooting and repair, or equivalent combination of education and formal training is required.
Knowledge of modern construction processes, systems integration project management, and experience with procurement processes is required.
Avixa CTS-I certification or equivalent combination of experience and training is required. Understanding of enterprise IP networking, including DNS, DHCP, and subnetting is required.
Experience with HDCP and EDID is required.
A demonstrated record of strong customer service skills and ability to work with multiple high priority assignments is required. Strong written and verbal skills are required.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license; may be required to operate a motor vehicle (your own vehicle or Cornell-owned) to travel to/from job sites.
Experience with Biamp and Clearone DSP software programming is preferred. Experience with Crestron DM Tools and programming is preferred.
Familiarity with ADA requirements as they pertain to audio-visual system design is preferred.
Experience with CAD and Visio is preferred. Experience with applying ANSI/INFOCOMM 10 System Performance Verification or AV 9000 is preferred.
