Role Value Proposition: The Solution Architect role is part of MetLife’s Enterprise Architecture practice. This person will be responsible for planning the development and communication of an architecture domain and/or solution architecture. The primary job function is to design and illustrate Solution Architecture for applications that they are responsible for. In addition to that they would also be expected to build and maintain reference architectures for domains that they are responsible for. The Architect would have to be familiar with architecture and design patterns that are commonly used. The architect must be able to articulate and document the impact of their solution/reference architecture. The person is also expected to be well versed in current technologies.
Key Responsibilities: •Responsible for creating and maintaining solution architectures by collaborating with application development teams, business partners and other architects •Will be creating and maintaining reference architectures for domains that they are responsible for •Reviewing new technologies and products to assess their viability within the MetLife eco-system and guide application and business teams through the governance process to enable their usage •Maintaining broad and deep understanding of multiple technologies, reference architectures and business applications •Ensuring alignment of solution and reference architectures with the Architecture and Technology roadmaps •Assisting application development teams with requirement analysis, design reviews, test plan reviews and test reviews to help ensure that all the components of a solution are appropriately accounted for •Partnering with teams with occasional hands-on activity to help prove new technologies, solutions
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
· Knowledge of one or more technology domains including working with System/Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
