The Corporate IS Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Senior Software Engineer-Interfaces.
Working as a member of the team, the Senior Software Engineer leads the implementation, and supervises the testing, documentation and support of enterprise-wide Integration processes using Cerner based application layer/technical tools.Â Works directly with the UHS clinical and financial teams in designing, developing, implementing and supporting integration solutions between the hospital EMRs and various third party systems. Typically works on larger projects and systems while assisting the more inexperienced analysts on smaller projects and systems. Works with customers to understand clinical workflow, gather interface (HL7) and/or custom specifications and develop, test and implement Cerner interface solutions.Â Works to resolve issues or perform maintenance or enhancement tasks assigned by the FSI team. Develops ETL applications using Cerner Open Engine, Cerner OPENLink, and Oracle SQL as needed.Â Provides technical support to the user community as needed.Â Meets deadlines and ensures continued progress toward assignment completion. Coordinates work assignments in order to meet deadlines.Â Provides guidance to less experienced staff. Shares experience and learned knowledge with other members of team.
Key Responsibilities include:
Communicates with users, vendors, and IS staff to develop/modify system specifications.
Supports the implementation of applications and prepares the appropriate documentation.
Supervises and performs system testing and documentation for all phases of the application development life cycle.
Performs Q/A on application functionality.
Monitors, researches and resolves implementation-related Customer Support Center Tickets.
Adheres to appropriate UHS Project Management standards.
Ensures strict adherence to work plans, reporting all serious deviations to management.
Creates educational material and trains users in application use as needed.
Designs solutions for applications and prepares the appropriate documentation.
Assists in recommending application solutions to meet business needs
Constructs and schedules automated processes
Actively contributes to on-going process improvement.
