We are looking for an analyst to spend time immersed in the world of the underground Russian-language forums. We would like the analyst to eventually have the ability to bridge the knowledge gained from the online community into reporting for our clients with the end goal of helping our clients prevent threats.
So what does the job look like on a day-to-day basis?
You would likely spend half your day going through various forums looking for new information to report. Part of your research would be mapping connections between various people in the underground and discovering who are the key players in their respective community. You would also be working with others at the company to unmask schemes through Internet research.
The job is more art than science. We need people who are skilled researchers who can synthesize data from different sources and are willing to learn new subjects. The main attribute you need is extreme curiosity and an ability to make things happen.
This will likely be a community you have never been exposed to and we are willing to train the right candidate. Advanced technical knowledge is not necessary, but person should be comfortable around a computer and have basic internet skills.
