The Sr. Technical Lead is a high-profile position focused around Virtualization and Hyper-Converged orchestration and automation controls. The Sr. Technical Lead is charged with finding every opportunity for consolidating and automating repetitive tasks using batch/shell scripting, APIs, and other techniques to reduce provisioning time from days to hours. The candidate in this role will work directly with business to understand requirements on all application offerings from Apex Analytix and provide ways for better performance. This role requires the candidate to drive the System Admin group to maintain/manage/add/delete/modify existing infrastructure and provide direction for future projects and expansions.
Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot Enterprise Virtual Environment
Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot Enterprise Server Environment
Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot Web Server related problems running IIS Servers
Extensive knowledge of Citrix Netscaler/XenApp/XenDesktop/Loadbalancing environment.
Innovate and Implement new solution in the interest of the business
Maintain corporate active directory environment with OUs/Group Policies & Automation
Monitor the virtual and server infrastructure and set out alerts for pro-active actions
Provide tech leadership to the System Admin Group
Patch the existing and any new infrastructure
Architect any new deployments on server provisioning
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
Maintain UCS/Dell Hosts infra including firmware upgrades
Resolve issues pertaining to AD, File & User Permissions, Server Issues, OS installation, Patch Installation.
Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
Provide Tier III/other support per request from various BUs. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
Strong discretion/latitude/decision-making skills
Decisions normally have a noticeable effect department-wide and company- wide, and judgment errors can typically require one to two weeks to correct or reverse. We have change management process which needs to be followed before any change can be made in the environment.
Ability to interpret and/or discuss information with others, which involves terminology or concepts not familiar to many people.
Regularly provide advice and recommend actions involving rather complex issues. May resolve problems within established practices.
Possess solid communication skills to work with multiple people on phone calls.
MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
VCP (VMWare Certified)
5+ years’ experience in similar System Administrator roles
Core Experience within Active Directory / Virtualization / Storage
Strong knowledge of VMWare environment
Experience managing multi forest / domain AD environment.
Working experience on File & print, WSUS server.
Hands on experience on RAID, clustering, server & network load balancing.
Hands on experience on Backup & restores.
Experience with EMC Storage Arrays and Software - VNX, VMAX, and Extreme I/O is a must.
Working experience on FTP & Anti-Virus, DNS & DHCP server.
Working experience on VMWare/Citrix/HyperV is an added advantage.
Highly organized and standard driven individual with strong focus on documentation
