Position Scope and Focus:
Provide effective software and hardware support and ongoing maintenance to the organization including Desktop, server, cloud and networking infrastructure. Need to ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to company policies and procedures. Focus is on customer support, together with ongoing and continued improvements to IT infrastructure.
Duties & Responsibilities, (not limited to):
Duties will include administrative and hands-on tasks:
Install and configure OS and software on employee equipment including but not limited to laptops, desktops and phones.
Assist end users by resolving, communicating and documenting reported issues.
Troubleshoot, repair, recover and document hardware and software failures.
Manage the company cloud and virtualized server infrastructure at a virtual colocation, Microsoft Azure and Amazon Webservices
Test, apply and monitor OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis to all IT infrastructure as necessary
Monitor daily backup operations across all IT infrastructure
Ensure standard operating procedures are created and maintained to assure consistent performance of IT-related activities.
Recommend solutions, process changes and improvements to business and operational processes in accordance with established change management policies and procedures.
Participate in IT-related projects as requested serving as technical expert by sharing knowledge, training and assisting others.
Learn and assist in the support of third party applications that are in use across the company.
1 – 2 years of experience in managing an IT infrastructure system for a 20+ person enterprise including internal helpdesk functions.
IP Networking, DHCP, DNS, network installation, setup and monitoring Cisco® routers, switches, VPN concentrator, VoIP, firewall
Wireless (802.11X) networks
Cloud infrastructure such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Directory-as-a-service, Box etc.
Microsoft Windows desktop and server OS
Linux based OS, web servers and services (Apache Tomcat™, etc.)
Microsoft Office 365 application administration etc.
Microsoft Office troubleshooting and support
Security management and patching
Virus and spyware prevention and removal
Desktop and server administration & troubleshooting
Demonstrated skill in troubleshooting and mitigating network and system problemsRequired Skills:
Network administration of a 20+ user network (Cisco networks preferred) with both wireless and WAN users
Experience with network services (DHCP, DNS, LDAP, IPSec, SNMP, SSH)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications
Demonstrated capability to create, deploy, monitor and maintain cloud resources at Azure or AWS
Tact and sensitivity with confidential information
Ability to work independently or in teams
Capacity to master new skills quickly, resolve problems efficiently and effectively, and make sound decisions
