The Network Engineer is responsible for architecting current and future enterprise data and voice network communications systems and for providing the highest level of problem resolution. This position architects services that support the enterprise network such as monitoring tools, hardware, and software resources. Also, this position completes research and recommends solutions that will result in secure and consistently reliable network communications
What You Will Need To Do:
Design, plan, implement, support, & maintain network data communications systems in a high-availability environment, providing senior level technical expertise on IT projects.
Designs and implements remote connectivity solutions including but not limited to IPSec VPN
Analyzes, troubleshoots, and corrects network problems remotely and on-site.
Act as the subject matter expert for all networking technologies
Maintains, troubleshoots, resolves, and responds to the most difficult network problems; and coordinates solutions with outside vendors, customers, and information technology staff.
Research, establish and guide the transition to new network hardware and software.
Analyzes systems statistics and guides the implementation of performance enhancements.
Ability to complete multiple simultaneous projects in a timely manner
What We Will Need From You:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Information Systems
Expert level understanding of MPLS, BGP, OSPF and other routing protocols.
Demonstrate a high level functional understanding of network routing and switching technology for the purpose of solving connectivity problems in a firewalled environment.
Excellent understanding of VPN (site to site, remote access client, IPSec, IKE, tunnel modes, SSL/clientless/AnyConnect, Tunnels between Firewalls, Routers)
3 years of experience managing enterprise level network devices such as Cisco ASA firewalls, Palo Alto Networks Firewalls, Fortinet Fortigate firewalls, Cisco Catalyst switches, Routers, Citrix Netscalers
Experience with IPS appliances
Experience with SIEM Products
Familiarity with network design and architecture
In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, VPN, VLAN, DHCP, DNS, WIFI, SSL
Advanced knowledge of monitoring tools (PRTG, Nagios, SolarWinds, etc)
Exposure to SOX or HIPAA data regulations helpful
Nice to have, but not required:
Experience in an MSP environment supporting customers
