eNGINE is hiring for an Operations Analyst to serve as the second layer of support to resolve the issues of internal and external users. This is a contract to hire opportunity north of the city in a unique and growing organization. This is a great opportunity for an individual that seeks variety in their day to day.
Build new and upgrade existing customer environments
Troubleshoot problems arising from existing customer environments
Participate in on call rotation for 24/7 operation
Act as Tier-2 support for customer environments across all applications
Monitor systems via alert platforms and mailbox indications
Provide support for internal office, including but not limited to computers, networks, phones, security doors, internal office servers, etc.
Learn existing procedures and practices via existing documentation and training from supervisor and co-workers
Associate degree from technical or trade school in Computer field
3+ years’ experience in equivalent area of infrastructure support including: networking (physical and application layer), windows server support, helpdesk support work, laptop/pc support, phone support
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent troubleshooting skills and good attention to detail with emphasis on problem ownership in a team environment
Exposure with Microsoft SQL in or some other comparable database system (MS-SQL scripting experience is preferred)
Enterprise level case or ticket management system experience
PowerShell, Perl, VBscript, or similar experience preferred
Ability to work with other teams to; identify, diagnose and triage problems, escalated from the Tier-1 support group, or alerted through automated monitoring systems
Basic understanding of infrastructure components such as, but not limited to, networking LAN/WAN/WLAN, Firewalls, switches, WAP’s, Operating Systems configurations both Server and PC, Protocols/Ports and their role in network security and data flow, IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, Client VPN, P2P VPN Tunnels, etc.
Prior experience supporting enterprise servers utilizing remote management tools such as Microsoft Remote Desktop, mRemote, etc.
Experience with Electronic Data Interchange systems and/or supply chain preferable
Experience working on large, tightly coupled, database systems front-ended by web applications desirable
