Facebook seeks an experienced and highly motivated team player to support our Media Creative Strategy as a Production Paralegal. The position will work with stakeholders across the company to support various aspects of video production, including the creation and management of legal processes, review of ancillary agreements, and legal review of marketing and promotional assets. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and to work on interesting issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment. The role will be a full-time position located at our New York or Los Angeles office.
Use knowledge of the production process to help identify and create legal production and rights clearance processes
Assist with the legal review of audio visual and marketing content to ensure compliance with company policies and identify and help resolve legal issues that arise in audiovisual content, including intellectual property, rights of publicity, privacy, and defamation issues applicable legal requirements
Review ancillary production agreements, including location agreements, appearances releases, materials releases, footage licenses
Work with product, public policy, operations and communications colleagues on cross-functional issues
5+ years of experience working as a paralegal or rights clearance specialist in connection with the production of audiovisual content from a law practice, production company, studio, or television network
Experience working directly with internal partners and with reviewing and providing guidance on legal issues arising in marketing and audiovisual content
Experience negotiating ancillary production agreements such as location agreements
Experience with the following in the context of audiovisual content: intellectual property, right of publicity, privacy, and defamation issues
Experience managing intake process for content review
Experience juggling multiple projects at once
Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certification
