Job Overview: The purpose of this position is to support the functions of the branches and back office departments; to install, configure and support MPLS/Frame Relay environment as well as routers/switches, firewalls and the legacy and LAN multi-protocols associated with this technology; to work with internal departments to troubleshoot connectivity/networking problems; to work with outside vendors on installations and troubleshooting of problems related to network connectivity and software configuration; to respond to security updates related to network equipment and make required changes to maintain network security; to troubleshoot problems using appropriate network management tools; to configure and administrate network management tools; to administrate department servers running Windows and/or Unix; to administrate Video Conferencing system; to install, configure and support VPN appliance.
Qualifications: * Minimum of 2 yea rs’ experience in Teleprocessing environment including technical experience with voice/data networks and systems. * Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or related field required. Will consider commensurate experience. * Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and outside vendors. * Able to work periodic evenings and weekends. * Must have good documentation and analytical skills. * Should have a good working knowledge of installing and maintaining telecommunications cable plants. * Experience with a variety of computer platforms ranging from mainframe (CICS and VTAM) to PC based applications preferred. * Experience with a variety of networking protocols including TCP/IP, EIGRP, BGP and SSH. * Knowledge of the Windows implementations of DHCP, DNS and Active Directory. * Knowledge of Linux, Unix, Microsoft and Pearl shell batch script ing preferred. * A vehicle and valid PA driver’s license required.
Principle Activities and Duties: * Recommend and purchase new network equipment. * Recommend and install applications that will assist monitoring of the network. * Install, configure and support data equipment/networks at branch offices and back office departments. * Respond to all network security alerts. Including IOS upgrades and installing security patches. * Make necessary firewall changes to segregate departments and provide/restrict external access to internal systems. * Assign and maintain IP addressing scheme for the entire network. * Make configuration changes to allow support departments to have VPN access. * Troubleshoot network connectivity problems. * Administrate departmental servers. * Make technical presentations to upper management related to networking projects. * Configure network equipment and troubleshoot network issues for annual Disaster Recovery test.
