The Corporate IS Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Project Manager-IT, Telecommunications.
The Project Manager ensures optimal network performance and availability in accordance with sound network management practices and methods. Manages multiple projects in a large scale technical environment. Manages all aspects of projects assigned from preparing project schedules and estimates through final implementation. Coordinates work assignments given in order to meet deadlines and ensure continued progress toward assignment completion. Provides technical support and project direction to UHS entities as needed. Supports existing and implements new integrations with various hospital systems; ensuring optimal system performance in accordance with information systems methods and practices. Recommends and implements controls and procedures to protect UHS assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure or destruction.
Key Responsibilities include:
Manages multiple projects in a large scale technical environment.
Uses effective project management techniques to plan, organize and manage telecommunication projects through implementation with Facility IS Departments.
Establishes specific project schedules; meets project budgets; and directs the work of project team members in a matrix environment.
Leads project status meetings with multiple personnel across different technical teams.
Assigns and manages resources for projects both internal and external.
Leads and documents Telecommunication activities.
Evaluates and participates in the selection of supporting vendors.
Works with outside vendors to define technology requirements, design alternatives, costs, and project schedules for new and existing projects.
Coordinates activities of IS vendors/teams, directs delivery of equipment/devices to facilities.
Effectively trains analysts in performance of their duties as required.
Provides technical support and guidance to other team members as required.
Maintains Service Excellence principles.
Provides consistent and comprehensive status reports, project updates, and ongoing cost analyses, significant issue management/ resolution and communication, usually at the executive levels.
Interviews applicants for vacant positions as needed using appropriate interview techniques.
Contributes to staff performance evaluations.
Keeps management well informed of activities, needs, problems.
