Overview: Management Science Associates, Inc. (MSA) is a diversified information management company that for over half a century has given market leaders the competitive edge in data management, analytics and technology. We are currently seeking a Technical Project Manager to join our Life Sciences management team with focus on our EDITLife® product. EDITlife® manages the complex workflow of patient care throughout the BMT and Solid Organ transplantation processes and makes a difference in how a clinic functions.
The Technical Project Manager must have strong verbal and written communication skills, experience leading a multi-disciplined software product team, and a desire to innovate and achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
Coordinate cross-functional teams from definition through production go-live of fully developed product releases
Manage and maintain product schedule including critical path milestones and status measurement and reporting.
Participate in efforts necessary to collect business, functional and technical needs including relevant activities necessary to manage external partners input and solicit broad scale customer feedback
Provide direction, planning, and execution to achieve product roadmap.
Initiate technology project definition and planning activities. Establish, manage and leverage business and technology relationships with both internal and external parties as related to the product. Define and manage a complex set of upstream and downstream business and technology dependencies.
Work with discipline managers to develop product strategies, schedules, quality plans, functional and technical flows, functional and technical specifications, software, standard operating procedures (internal and external) and training guides
Champion the efforts to deliver on product goals. Lead project teams in processes and all aspects of the technology element of the product.
Accountable for aligning functional, technical and operational quality as well as on time delivery of product
Investigate facts and develop solutions to problems during all phases of product
Work as a member of the product leadership team which may serve as the escalation point for product decisions prior to involvement of division head
Effectively complete detailed project plans by identifying tasks, deliverables, assignments, controls, risks, and contingency plans
Monitor performance and recommend schedule changes, including resource and other cost adjustments
Report project status and milestone achievements for all phases of a project on a very regular basis and implement remedial actions as appropriate
Interact with clients on existing projects and help grow the relationship between MSA and our clients
Accountable for project management methodology and practices of product
Requires a four-year degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent experience
Minimum eight years of progressive product project management experience including at least five years of experience with software product project management
Proven track record with highlights quality principles with focus on development and operations of large-scale systems/projects
Proficiency using MS Project, MS Office and MS Visio
Strong communication and presentation skills including the ability to articulate and facilitate technical, business and analytical discussions across disciplines
Must be able to exhibit strong organizational, multi-tasking and detailed oriented skills along with success under pressure
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
