In this newly created position, you will work closely with the Senior Programmer working on existing business application software, integrations with other applications and databases, and web-based applications to meet the business needs of Aprilaire and its customers.
Additional responsibilities of the Programmer I position are:
Maintaining existing iSeries (written in RPG) and legacy System 36 platform ERP system.
Interpreting programming, troubleshooting issues, and making modifications to existing code to meet the company and user needs.
Architecting, developing, and implementing software programs to meet business requirements.
Resolving and troubleshooting problems and complex issues.
Assisting employees in use of new procedures and programs.
Assisting with programming projects that meet business needs.
The Qualifications Needed for Success are:
Bachelor's degree in MIS or similar discipline
5 years' experience of RPG programming
Strong familiarity with standard programming techniques and ability to put into practice: RPGLE, CL, and Free Format programming language; IFS and file shares; Experience with HTML and Java desired by not required.
Skilled in the use of: Java; Web-based development; MS SQL
Experience in the following S/36 environments: S/36 OCL procedures, indexes, and sorts; S/36 RPG; S/36 menus and display files.
Strong customer service orientation with the ability to work well with users (understanding needs, training users on programs and procedures).
Strong initiative, organizational skills, and the ability to drive projects to conclusion.
Experience and understanding of manufacturing processes such as MRP, orders, routings, bills of materials.
Skilled in designing and developing print programs and reports.
