Most clients have 10-100 computers and do not have a full-time IT staff, and we act as their IT department. We are a successful, established firm that has been in businesses for more than 28 years. We are growing, and currently have an employment opening for a Marketing Specialist.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This position is primarily responsible for the supporting the company’s marketing initiatives and daily functions, including:
Assist with branding.
Develop and update content for website, blog and social media, including text, graphics and videos.
Develop and update marketing materials and communications, including brochures, flyers, handouts, press releases, case studies and white papers.
Monthly email newsletters and printed quarterly newsletters, including content and publication.
Advertising, including online ads (paid search and organic search), radio ads and print ads.
Event coordination for clients and prospects, including: scheduling, promotion, registration, presentation, and post-event follow-up.
Identifying, applying for, and using vendor Market Development Funds (MDF).
Selection, purchase, and distribution of client appreciation gifts.
Selection, purchase, and distribution of specialty promotional items.
Assist New Business Development staff and Account Management staff in generating qualified leads and promoting sales.
Assist in managing public relations for the company through numerous media and communications outlets.
Assist in special marketing projects (as reviewed and defined by manager).
Attend regularly scheduled and adhoc department meetings.

A two-year associate’s degree or four-year bachelor’s degree in the field of marketing, or equivalent experience and/or training.
5+ years of proven experience and results in business-to-business marketing for small and mid-size businesses.
Experience creating and updating content for websites, blogs, social media, Google Adwords, etc. is preferred and helpful.
Experience developing and updating marketing materials and communications, including: brochures, flyers, handouts, press releases, email newsletters and printed newsletters is preferred and helpful.
Experience with events coordination is preferred and helpful.
Experience with obtaining vendor Market Development Funds is preferred and helpful.
Experience with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel and Outlook) is required. Experience with Microsoft Publisher and graphics software is preferred and helpful.
Strong marketing skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.

Language: Ability to effectively speak, read and write English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as email messages, web pages, service tickets, instruction guides, help files, RFPs, standard operating procedures and checklists. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Strong problem solving skills, and ability to deal with problems involving several variables.
Ability to drive a motor vehicle. (Preferred, to occasionally attend events).

Work Environment: Work is normally performed in an office setting. The noise levels in the work environment may vary, but are usually moderately quiet.
Work Hours: Work is normally performed during standard business hours, Monday through Friday. Occasional off-hours work may be required for special situations, or attending special events. NOTE: THIS IS A NEW POSITION FOR OUR COMPANY, AND IS INTENDED TO ASSUME DUTIES CURRENTLY PERFORMED BY OTHERS, PLUS NEW DUTIES. WE ARE OPEN TO TALKING WITH CANDIDATES WHO ARE INTERESTED IN PART-TIME WORK (20-HOURS PER WEEK OR MORE) UP TO FULL-TIME.
Work Location: Normally, work is performed at the company’s office.
Travel: Normally, travel is not expected. Occasionally, local car travel in the Greater Pittsburgh area is required (to attend special events).
