The Microsoft Office 365 Cloud Architect is a technical leader within the Communication Technologies process area. As a Cloud Architect, you will focus on the Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint and the associated integrations with the Azure platforms to provide:
o A solution roadmap based on in-depth technical knowledge to meet enterprise needs and drive business value o Design, and deploy solutions of various sizes and complexity, at various stages throughout the project lifecycle, based on the Microsoft Office 365 and Azure platforms o Provide technical leadership, change management oversight and operational support excellence for those Cloud technologies
The Microsoft Office 365 Cloud Architect is to develop and maintain the high-level technical design plans for the overall cloud architecture. This individual will provide technical consulting and recommendations across the enterprise, from strategic direction, project design consideration to complex incident management. The Microsoft Office 365 Cloud Architect employs deep technical knowledge to design, build, and operate and enhance U. S. Steel collaboration systems.
Responsibilities: • Provide architectural design, development, implementation and management expertise over the U. S. Steel’s Microsoft Office 365 cloud presence • Monitors service updates and roadmaps to evaluate and test new solutions or changes and improvements to existing. • Develops and documents business cases and plans for future strategies and solution deployments that are aligned with business strategies • Monitors Microsoft Office 365 cloud facilities and arranges for necessary corrective actions to ensure high quality services • Facilitates comprehensive risk assessments; Develops and prioritizes remediation strategies to address identified risks • Perform technical oversight of implementation projects to assure alignment with architecture and technology standards • Collaborate with the hardware, network, security and database architects in application design and implementation • Communicates and educates the technical and business communities on current architectures, technologies and industry trends • Work with stakeholders to capture, define, and document business requirements • Recommend appropriate solutions based on those requirements • Design conceptual architecture and technical solutions and lead efforts to develop and implement approved solution • Take responsibility for project activities including work estimation, planning, stakeholder management and project quality • Perform design review with Development teams, and act as a subject matter expert for Development and Testing teams once a project moves forward • Provide Expert operational support services to operational teams • Architecture policies for Microsoft Office 365 Cloud based services • Attend training to learn and keep up to date on new technology • Provide technical and functional knowledge transfer and mentorship to the organization • Server as Microsoft Office 365 subject matter expert to provide recommendations and drive technology initiatives, as well as ongoing engineering and architectural guidance for the organization • Serve as the subject matter expert for Microsoft Office 365, Skype for Business Voice, AzureAD, ADFS, EMS, and related technologies • Hands-on design and implementation of Skype for Business Cloud Voice, Exchange, Office 365, Enterprise Mobility Suite, Active Directory and related technologies.
Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or related field • 7-10 years of increasingly diverse or complex experience • 5+ years of experience in administration of Microsoft collaboration technologies (Exchange, SharePoint, Skype for Business, OneDrive, Office) in on-prem, cloud or hybrid environment • 2+ years of Microsoft Active Directory and/or Azure Active Directory Administration experience • 1+ years of hands on experience with Cloud Identity and Security Technologies – EMS, Federation Services, and Identity management • Advanced PowerShell scripting to manage Microsoft Cloud environment. • Ability to work both in an office and manufacturing environment • Provide 24X7 on-call support to the entire U.S. Steel enterprise • Deep technical understanding of Microsoft Ecosystem of cloud services, their inter-relationships and impact of systems and applications on the existing and future environment. • Ability to design and implement Microsoft and related Cloud technology solutions utilizing Office 365, Active Directory, Azure, SharePoint, EMS, and others. • Hands-on experience on designing, implementing and managing Protection, Archiving, Message Hygiene technologies, Active Directory Forests, Active Directory Federation services, Azure Cloud, Azure Active Directory, Azure Rights Management • Experience designing and troubleshooting complex messaging and mail routing scenarios
Desired Requirements: • Analytical skills to prepare powerful reporting using PowerBI and other tools. • Basic understanding of data networking, voice and video services, desktop/server level configuration and management • Growth in technical skills through certifications (MCSA, MCSE, MCP, MCTS) or other similar achievements is desired
