Responsible for supporting and developing array of all FMCS applications, systems, and related processes. Developing functional application specifications and systems design criteria. Communicates with users and the application programming staff/vendor to coordinate and roll out program enhancements and upgrades. Responsibilities include technical oversight, administration and system maintenance of COTS and custom-designed mission critical applications, development and support of applications and supporting technologies, hardware life-cycle management, and maintenance of application documentation, user training and user support. This position will support FMCS systems, which include: University Stores, Copy Centers, Parking & Transportation Services, Postal Services, Printing and Mailing Services, Receiving and Warehouse, and Facilities Operations.

Core responsibilities will include:
Work with customers to understand and develop functional specifications based on business use cases. Analyze current business procedures and suggest system changes as needed. Participate in the testing and rollout of system configuration changes and upgrades. Test new versions in preparation for upgrades. Work with vendor to implement configuration changes.
User support - Investigates and resolves user problems and answers user questions regarding hardware, software, server applications and networking. Maintains communications with end users and programmers/vendors to reach satisfactory resolution of problems.
Manage server processes, including virtual servers, required for applications to run. This includes Windows system administration tasks as well as some web server and application server management, configuration and troubleshooting.
Documentation and training - Writes user documentation as needed for computer applications, both internally developed and COTS. Develops training materials and provides one on one and/or classroom training to new users.
Experience working effectively with a group of multidisciplinary staff in a project team setting. Will have proven analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrate an understanding of configuration and system administration tasks and principles.
Writes queries/reports to retrieve information on request. Provides technical assistance in the preparation of requests for proposals related to systems or records.
Understanding of database structures, applications and processes. Ability to determine the effects of security implementation and rules in firewalls. Particular knowledge of financial management. Significant experience with managing business operations, business writing and administration. Understanding vulnerabilities and attacks on PCs and networks. Ability to diagnose and solve security issues on computers. Use of web editors, FTP and web publishing software. Content writing and design skill. General knowledge of computer and networking systems. Knowledge of business practices.
Minimum Skills: Strong analytical and organizational skills across a broad range of technical subjects. Excellent written and graphical communication skills with the ability to edit work by others. Ability to work tactfully with coworkers while assisting them with software and/or hardware problems. ability to use simple hand tools for computer component replacement
Preferred Experience: Significant (e.g. 2 or more years) full-time professional experience performing data analysis and/or computer support functions.
