Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with management and stakeholders.
Facilitates the drafting and submission of project budgets, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary with justifications.
Assist in the review of project requests; related impact to other PMO managed activities; and clearly identifying potential risk.
Contributes in preparation of initial project timelines and cost estimates; benefits; feasibility; and priority for PMO review.
Develop full-scale project plans for approved projects and associated communications documents.
Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
Track project milestones and deliverables.
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and develop contingency plans.
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
Facilitate definition of project success criteria, obtain approval from sponsor, and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
Ensures adherence to current SLUHN PMO framework and methodologies.
Effectively communicates and consistently sets project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
Where required, negotiates with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and aids in the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
Utilizes industry standard project management methodologies adopted by SLUHN’s PMO (i.e. WBS, Communication plans, etc)
Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
Is knowledgeable regarding the details of all assigned projects and capable of providing updates on request.
Validates with the PMO business analyst the monthly IT labor and capital allocation.
Assists in the review of contracts, which are or will be associated with assigned projects.
Compiles IT PMO metrics as required.
Assists in the documentation of IT PMO standards, policies and procedures.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
Works with project teams to ensure that projects are delivered on-time and within budget.
Facilitates the process to identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Provides coaching, mentoring & guidance to the project teams, IT staff, and network staff where appropriate.
Influence project team members to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
Is an active member of the PMO, contributing to the creation, further development and adherence of a project methodology.
Provides input to staff evaluations.
When required, leads or assists with the development of Requests for Proposals (RFP) for external products and/or services
Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements and support continual improvement initiative.
Ensure a high level of quality service to the project stakeholders, IT management, and members of the PMO.
Assist in the development of best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Participates in Hospital/Network Committees as assigned.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; standing for up to 7 hours per day, 4 hours at a time; walking for up to 2 hours a day, 1 hour at a time. Seeing as it relates to general, near, color, and peripheral vision. Hearing as it relates to normal and telephone conversations.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration (or relevant major) or equivalent work experience is required.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3 years of IT Project Management experience required. Minimum 2 years of experience working within a PMO or equivalent experience is required. Minimum 3 years of experience working in a team environment and an ability to work independently with little oversight is required. 1 – 3 years of financial/decision support experience is preferred.
Application Experience: Hospital Information System, Laboratory Information System, Radiology Information System, PACS, Pharmacy Information System, Medication Administration, CPOE, Orders Results Management Server, network, PC, and communication systems experience is preferred. MS Visio, MS Project or equivalent, MS Office experience is required.
Hospital Operations Knowledge / Experience: Two to thre (2 – 3) years of general hospital operation or healthcare knowledge and experience is preferred.
