Our Client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, has an immediate need for a Windows Engineer. The position is Remote work from home approved. This is a 6 month contract assignment with the possibility of an extension. Ideal candidates must have 7+ years of Windows Engineering experience along with Solarwinds and Commvault experience. Must have experience supporting manufacturing plants or process facilities.
Under general direction, plans and performs analysis of major company activities and guides the subsequent design and implementation of systems for the application of electronic data processing or for the improvement of existing data processing applications. Is concerned primarily with the broad aspects of data processing systems, with the objective of utilizing available personnel resources, computer hardware and software to provide that information most useful to the company in the most efficient manner. Is concerned with the interaction between systems not only to avoid redundancies in storage and processing, but also to take advantage of new and more effective ways of providing needed information.

Working with critical manufacturing infrastructure
Knowledge of securing critical Windows infrastructure.
Knowledge of multi-site backup systems – experience with Commvault preferred
Knowledge of multi-site monitoring – experience with Solarwinds
Managing service delivery in a rapidly changing technical environment.
Coordinate service delivery between local, business unit, and centralized technical resources.
Prioritize and deliver competing projects with scarce resources
Establish defined value for all new proposed projects or major changes to existing applications.
Day to day operations of assigned systems and or other shared systems.
Deployment, support and management of global Windows 2008/2012 forests and domains, including DNS, AD, OU, GPO and Account management.
Implementation and monitoring of the Commvault backup system – deployed both centrally and at remote locations
Work remotely with global locations on deployment of the global manufacturing domains, ensure proper domain operations.
Quickly understand existing 2008/2012 domain environments to enable system and device migrations from existing domains to new domains.
Perform cross domain migrations
Skills in patch management, Antivirus, system monitoring such as WSUS, SEP and Solar Winds
Participate in deploying, maintaining and management of backup and recovery procedures and processes for Windows devices and VMware.
Ensure uptime of the highest levels possible and in line with negotiated internal operations agreements.
Knowledge of installation, configuration, securing, administrating and supporting virtual server infrastructure, including VMware hosts and associated virtual servers, and ancillary servers that support this infrastructure. Administration of virtual servers, and applications in the virtual environment, performing security and Windows version upgrades as necessary to remain in compliance, and resolving problems reported by users
Compliance and Audit Activities-participate in IT compliance testing, draft procedures and work instructions in support of compliance goals
Windows 2008/2012, Linux Server Technologies, VMware virtualization technologies, Patch management, Solarwinds, Commvault
MCSE is preferred
Bachelors degree in IT/IS/CS is preferred
Prior applicable experience:
7+years of experience in IT/IS.
Prior experience working in a plant or process environment supporting multiple remote locations.
