You will have broad and deep responsibilities in the adoption of Cloud computing at the University. You will design, develop and integrate existing IT infrastructure, standards, processes and services with cloud platforms. You will also work with many people across campus to develop optimal solutions, taking into consideration performance, cost and security. We will work strategically to achieve goals that are best for the organization but not lose sight of tactical issues in order to ensure timely solution delivery.
Design processes to integrate existing system operations standards and processes with cloud architectures
Develop, document and disseminate standard methodologies in conjunction with groups across campus. The groups will range across the campus spectrum: IT focused system and applications administrator; functional partners from various business units; the Security Office; DR/BC planning team; academic and research groups
Conduct vendor analysis and comparison and deliver proof of concept projects for new technologies and solutions
Build financial models that estimate and predict cloud vs. on premises costs
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
At least 8 years of relevant work experience
1-3 years of working with public, private or hybrid Cloud platforms (Amazon, Google, Microsoft, OpenStack, VMware, etc.)
5+ years of experience with server and/or desktop Virtualization environments (VMware, Microsoft, Citrix)
Experience with enterprise systems and architectures
Experience with SaaS and PaaS platforms (ServiceNow, SalesForce, etc.)
Experienced in the design, development and deployment of large heterogeneous distributed systems and environments
Deep understanding of computer networking and networking support services, especially with virtual and cloud environments
Broad understanding of cyber security, including policy, compliance, network security controls, etc.
Demonstrated experience with project delivery; leading multi-functional teams and contributing as part of a team
Superb communication, problem solving, planning and analytical skills
Preferred Experience and Skills
Developing applications and modern development methodologies
Automating system administration tasks and the enabling tools (SCCM, Puppet, Chef, etc.)
Using IT Service Management to deliver services to users and customers
Reviewing and negotiating contracts
Planning and managing financial budgets
Designing, evaluating and operating data centers
