Knovel delivers answers and insights to practicing engineers, scientists, and students using structured and unstructured engineering and technical reference content. The Product Manager-Data and Analytics will have, develop, and continuously refine his/her deep understanding of user needs (use cases) and market trends - specifically around structured data in tables and charts - and prioritize those needs in to stories, epics, and sprints (roadmap) for delivery through Knovel. This role owns the selection of content, specification for content production, and requirements for feature/functions necessary to deliver on the use cases. This person will work closely with the customers and prospects to validate the proposed changes and/or new capabilities developed for prioritized use cases. This position requires close collaboration with the content product manager for overall content strategy, with operations to develop content specifications, and with engineering team to design and deliver feature/functions. In addition, collaboration is necessary with sales and marketing on Go-To-Market activities to drive commercial success. S/he will define use robust product management tools including usage analysis, A/B testing, in-product engagement, to measure effectiveness of product capabilities with the objective of recommending product changes that positively impact users' outcomes. The Product Manager will report to the Senior Director, Product Management, Knovel. We prefer NY based candidates and open to Boston based candidates.
Main Activities and Responsibilities
Develop the product roadmap (epics, stories, and sprints) to deliver prioritized content and capabilities to meet validated customer use cases. Articulate the compelling value proposition for their solutions and/or articulate how their solutions strengthens or expands the overall Knovel value proposition
For content, the product manager shall cultivate relationships with subject matter experts and negotiate contracts with those experts to provide editorial support. S/he will work with content production team to develop specifications for content production. S/he will work with content licensing manager to make build/license decisions for necessary content
The Product Manager will work collaboratively with the engineering team to enhance/develop feature/function capabilities through an agile framework
KEY METRIC: Usage growth of structured data in charts/tables/databases
Spearhead go-to-market planning including pricing, packaging, and internal/external communications planning around new data products. Develop and deliver underlying material that can be used by marketing to articulate the value proposition to internal and external audiences.
KEY METRIC: Adoption of data solutions by existing customers and penetration in to new customers
Use robust product management tools including usage data, user behaviors, A/B testing, interviews, surveys and other appropriate tools to continuously refine understanding of users and make data-driven recommendations for changes to existing capabilities and for new capabilities.

Functional and Technical Competencies
A passionate champion of user needs and clearly articulate those needs in to a compelling value proposition. Prioritize those needs for execution based on understanding of overall product strategy, and market trends, including competition
Experience in bringing together information and capabilities (e.g., analytics) to deliver the value proposition
Work closely with the product, design, engineering, and marketing team to drive usage and awareness
Experience with product management tools including usage analysis, user behavior, A/B testing to monitor product performance and effect changes to achieve key metrics
Work with analytics team to build out dashboard and prioritization of business/product metrics.
Effective time management and analytical/decision-making skills
Excellent presentation skills to internal and external stakeholders. Strong track record of collaboration within teams
Strong MS Excel or other data analysis tools (e.g., R) skills is an advantage
Strong experience with analytics tools like Kibana, Qlik, Tableau is an advantage
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experiences
• 5+ years of Product Management experience, preferably in developing and delivering building information driven B2B2C solutions
• Bachelor degree or higher degree in Science or Engineering field.
• Experience of working in, or supplying technology to, an industry served by Knovel: e.g. aerospace, chemicals, oil & gas, engineering & design, industrial machinery is an advantage.
