Client Technologies Application Engineer is responsible for implementation, support and maintenance of single sign on, dictation platform/speech to text services. Provides advanced technical support covering the full life-cycle of distributed technologies to Vidant Health’s customers. Expertly diagnoses and rapidly debugs technically complex software in networked and virtualized environments. Quickly and effectively isolates and resolves intricate problems in customer configurations and deployments. Incumbent will ensure support is delivered in a consistent, timely fashion and in line with the IS mission and objectives. Support will be delivered with the highest level of customer service.
•Provide advanced troubleshooting for complex issues related to the client operating system and/or any of the applications supported or distributed via IS systems. •Proficient knowledge and detailed understanding of Single Sign On concepts, user authentication concepts and administration. •Proficient knowledge of dictation based software/speech to text concepts, using Dragon or similar within a large organization. •Participate in the development of policies, standards, procedures and processes for the reliable and secure operation of the Windows client environment with a focus on single sign on and verbal dictation software. •Hands on experience implementing and supporting single sign on solutions like Imprivata and preferred experience in supporting speech to text solutions such as Nuance Dragon. •Solves system/desktop problems by analyzing the situation and implementing corrective or alternative actions. Analyzes and coordinates system testing (i.e. validation, UAT, etc.) •Provides excellent customer service by ensuring all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for Vidant Health’s IT service offerings for both internal and external customers are met or exceeded to meet customer business needs and expectations. •Provide guidance and direction to onsite staff to ensure that tickets are handled in accordance with IS policies and procedures. •Drive continuous improvement and introduction of ‘best practices’ into all areas of process, metrics, and performance. •Prioritize and resolve incidents and take steps to resolve issues so they do not occur again. •Escalate problems to the appropriately experienced technician or other groups.
•SSO Pass-through authentication, RDS session management, Kerberos, proximity cards, RADIUS, managing user, workstation based policies, profiling of applications deployed. •Speech to text dictation, configuration, user authentication concepts, administration and troubleshooting of profiles, server latency and client disconnects. •Understanding and experience developing or updating VB (Visual Basic) script, Microsoft PowerShell, or other dynamic scripting language. •Awareness of application delivery tools (SCCM, RES, Citrix, Mirage, PC Bios and registry); Messaging & Collaboration technologies (Dragon Dictation, Jabber, Cortext, Powershell). •Healthcare technology experience preferred.
